Maidstone Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Practice

Depression is diagnosed most frequently when an individual is suffering from a sustained period of low mood, sleeping disorder, pessimistic thinking and loss of interest in activities previously found enjoyable. Sometimes individuals suffering from depression will notice a change in their diet or sexual libido.

Research has shown that depression is far more complicated than the natural low mood which one would expect following a sad incident. We know this because we can observe Holocaust survivors or individuals who have lost their entire family not become depressed. Further to this, we can also observe many successful and wealthy people who battle with depression on a daily basis. Depression is linked to specific pessimistic thinking styles and it is these thinking styles which can maintain depression for many years.

Hypnotherapy to overcome depression works in a variety of different ways. Typically, one of the fist things that I would do is help the individual restore their sleeping patterns so that when they awaken in the morning they feel completely calm and refreshed. Secondly, I take time to explain the specific pessimistic thinking styles which are conducive to depression and, by using hypnosis, make new and neutral thinking styles second nature. Thirdly, I get the client to identify exactly how they used to behave when they were not depressed and, by using hypnosis, make these behaviours second nature also.

Occasionally it is necessary for me to see an individual suffering from severe Clinical Depression a number of times. The way that this is organised is that the first session is where the bulk of the therapeutic work is carried out. I’ll then ask you to phone me 4/6 weeks later to see how you’re getting on. If you would like to have another appointment then you are welcome to book one at this point.

In addition to this, I’ll also provide you with a complimentary CD which will reinforce the session.

If you suffer from depression (including Bi Polar and Seasonal Affective Disorder), then please feel free to contact me and I’ll let you know how I can help you.
