Insomnia is the technical name given to the condition where an individual either struggles to fall asleep or wakes continually throughout the night. As sleeping is essential to good physical and mental health, insomniacs are far more likely to become physically unwell and developing psychological problems such as depression and anxiety disorders.


However thankfully insomnia is extremely straightforward to treat using hypnotherapy. Firstly, by using hypnosis, I remove all of the associations which have been built up between being awake and laying in bed at night. Therefore when the you go to bed you think about sleep and expect to fall asleep.


Secondly, I will teach you a powerful self hypnosis technique which you should do when you get into bed at night. This focuses the mind towards sleep and, almost without exception, you will find yourself falling asleep before you have a chance to complete the exercise.


Finally, I ask some basic questions about your sleeping rituals and routines and may encourage you to carry out a small number of behavioural changes which will encourage wholesome sleep throughout the night. These changes are small and easy to accommodate.
