Maidstone Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Practice

A panic attack can be thought of as a non-specific phobia. Typically individuals suffering from a panic attack may experience shortness of breath, increased anxiety, a fear of fainting, heart palpitations, sweating and derealisation.

What is actually occurring at this point is that the individual’s unconscious mind has created the illusion of danger when no danger is present. This is similar to what occurs with a phobia.

Sometimes people who suffer from panic attacks can identify specific things which make them feel anxious. For example, an individual may have a panic attack when presenting to a group of people or when driving. However sometimes the trigger for a panic attack is so subtle it is impossible for the sufferer to identify exactly what is causing it.

Using hypnosis to remove an individuals tendency to experience panic attacks involves getting the client to associate feelings of calmness and peace with environment which make them feel anxious. This means that the next time that the individual encounters a situation where they would usually panic, they instead experience a feeling of calmness or nonchalance.

For individuals who are unable to specify precisely what makes them have a panic attack, hypnotherapy involves reducing the individuals stress and anxiety levels down dramatically. This means that, although the stimulus may still be present, the tendency to experience a panic attack is greatly decreased or completely eliminated.

In addition to this, I’ll also provide you with a complimentary CD which will reinforce the session.
