In order to perform at your peak during a particular sport, it is necessary to take into consideration both the physical and the psychological. Typically sportspeople will spend a great deal of time ensuring that they are at their physical peak by exercising and generally looking after their bodies. However, the psychological care required to perform at one’s peak is invariably neglected. This psychological care will often focus around the feeling of being in ‘The Zone’ and expecting to perform well.
In a hypnotherapy appointment, I can use hypnosis to help you perform at your psychological peak. This occurs through using a technique known as ‘anchoring’ which will allow you to effectively bottle-up feelings of good performance and confidence and release them during actual sporting activity. In addition to this, I remove any conscious interference which you may experiencing so that, when you are playing, you are working on ‘auto pilot’. It is by playing ‘unconsciously’, rather than ‘consciously’, that you will achieve your finest performance.
I have had great success using these techniques with golfers, footballers and jockeys.
